Walk Talk

Two weeks ago, when I was 15 months old, I finally started walking without holding to things.
Phew! It was such an experience. Scared yet excited. Tired yet always energized. Fun yet painful if you bumped and fell.
Days before that, grandma popo has been doing the mumbo-jumbo by massaging my legs and keep chanting like a woman in trance “Popo give your little limbs power to walk..” - repeat like 3 or 4 times ( qigong transmission? ).
So, it all started with a mad dash across my grandma popo’s room, from the window to the door which is about 5 meters ( this historical moment was recorded on mama’s videocam – try getting a view loan from her ).
To psyche myself up, I would do a ritual before every walk – I would close my eyes, scream out ( like adults on roller coaster or during bungee jump ), and then just lunge forward with my eyes still closed. Most times ever-ready hands are around to catch me, other times I hit the wall or sofa ( and that is the reason of still being toothless at the moment, no tooth will chip ).
For balance, I would stretch out my arms forward ( which also served as ABS – Arms Brake System ).
With some practise, I was soon able to walk in a 2 speed mode – slow and fast. I was pacing. ( papa thinks I take slow tiny steps initially and then fast huge steps later because I was trying to keep my balance and keep going ).
With more practise, I was soon able to walk and make left or right turn. I was navigating.
Now, I almost walk with ease, making even 360 degrees turn or doing squat-stand-walk-run-stop and all over again.
It is time for hide and seek.
