Teething Matters

Greetings (teething?) from the little angel who is now almost entering into her 15 months of life – I now have half a tooth (and this one tooth on my upper right jaw seems been stuck in the gums for the past 2 weeks!).
My delayed teething and also walking have got my family some what excited some what worried. Excited because they have so much time observing and gossiping about my development, my slow development, – imagine anticipating my first tooth out since 9 months old means they have been waiting for the past half year! Worried because those text books keep saying,
“The first tooth appears after about six months but occasionally it takes a year before any teeth come through”.
And check this out too,
“Sometimes, a baby may be born with a tooth already visible”.
Likewise for my walking,
“At 11 months the baby walks forward if the hands are held, at 12 months walks sideways holding onto furniture, at 13 months learns to walk a step between gaps in the furniture and at 15 months walks fairly steadily for short distances”.
Me? I grumble and point to get people to carry me around.
So, it is either you burn those text books or read the fine prints at the bottom of the page which say,
“Different babies develop at very different rates and early development seems to bear little relation to ability later in life”…cos I am going to be Miss Beautiful Teeth and run the Marathon when I grow up.

Me : Toothless now.
Grandpa yehyeh ( 80 years oldman ) : Toothless soon. Heiheihei.
Note : Photo taken in Dec 2006 when I was 11 months. Photo choosen just to put things into perspective. Think think.
