A Babe's Life

I am now, six and a half month old. From a tiny three kilogram tot at birth I am now, eight kilogram. I took two weeks to settle down into a sleeping pattern, and I sleep well now. Mama has breastfed me for six months, and I am switching over to infant formula now. Bedtime for me starts at about 9 or 10 PM, after a chang xiu yi (long sleeve shirt+pants) change, a five ounces milk and lullaby from mama and/or grandma popo – sleeping alongside either of them, on the queen size bed. Mid sleep milk is around 2 AM, on sweet dream nights it stretches to 4 AM. Mid sleep milk, comes with a MamyPoko change too, I have been extremely particular about soiled nappies since birth. To indicate the need for milk feed and nappy change, I simply scratch my head, eyes and ears. After each feed a mouth dab is needed to prevent milk allergy. Good morning starts at 7 or 8 AM, and another milk feed and sometimes potty will follow if I let out gas consecutively two to three times. Grandma popo and grandpa kongkong would have gone for morning taichi exercise, and waiting for them to come home and fetch me for morning breakfast at the nearby coffee shops with all their equally sweaty friends, mama would have cleaned me up, changed me into short sleeve shirt+pants, and lovingly trotted me downstairs - Miss Kopitiam is ready to be paraded! Next is my favourite bathing session at 10 AM, followed by another milk feed and snooze. By noon it is cereals plus apple juice lunch, then playtime with the walker, the teething toys and of course babbling to all in sight. The afternoons, of late have been very hot, so by 3 PM it is the two hour noon nap in the aircon room. More playtime and sometimes evening walks with my pama before another milk feed for dinner. On lucky evenings, I get to go kai kai to Billion GunungRapat or the weekend HillCity dinner with AhGu and AhYi too, and not forgetting mostly on Friday evenings a trip to visit my grandma mahmah, grandpa yehyeh and all at home in IpohGarden. Of course during weekends, papa loves taking me out to shopping malls and recreational parks. Well, this weekend I will be going for my first ever out station trip – to KL for AhGu’s Convo…till then more reports from me soon.
