Gong Xi Fa Cai 2007

Chinese New Year 2007 ( CNY ) falls on the 18th and 19th February , ushering the arrival of the fire boar zodiac. CNY just like many Chinese celebrations are basically feast-ival – eat all you can in merriment with family and friends. It usually starts weeks before the actual date and stretches till ( some says ) the 15th day of the lunar new year.
This is my second CNY experience ( the first was when I was just one month old while mama was still in confinement! ). I love CNY lanterns and ornaments and enjoy visiting shopping malls to feel the atmosphere.

CNY shopping at Kinta City with grandma popo and grandpa kongkong.

CNY shopping at Kinta City with mama.

CNY shopping at Jusco Kinta City. Yeah – I still cant walk by now!

CNY shopping lunch break at Pizza Hut Kinta City. Yeah – I am still toothless and nimbling at my own teething bisquit only!

I had many firsts during CNY :
Y I had the chance to show off that I can recognize 19 out of the 26 aplhabets.
Y I had the chance to show off that I can clasp and shake both hands wishing GongXi GongXi when given angpow ( and yet stubbornly still refusing to hold my milk bottle during feed ).
Y I messed around with the customary yee-sung dish during low-sung sessions.
Y I experienced buffet steamboat dinner in MP Restaurant – I mean doing things like sneak-tasting the ice cream and squeezing the koi in the garden pond.
Y I freaked out with fireworks/crackers.
! I GOT BITTEN BY ONE REAL NASTY MOSQUITO!

Before mossy attack – in the pink of health.

Before mossy attack – in blue looking boyish.

After mossy attack! 5 kisses by 1 single mossy which died a horrible death – smacked, microwaved and fed to the guppy fish.

The mossy bites somehow serve as a completing décor to my SuperBaby shirt bought by ahyi ( just like my hairpin ).

Superbaby recuperating from mossy bites while watching Lau Kuan Yee MTV ( look at my cutey-fatty thigh ).

One week after mossy attack – playing with a Pooh candy dispenser and almost recovered.

Grandpa kongkong also celebrated his birthday ( 60th? ) on the seventh day of the lunar new year.

Grandpa kongkong birthday celebration in the neighbourhood-association ( hui-soh ).

…which had some karaoke sing-along too, my favorite CNY song being hua kai fu gui ( 花 开 富 贵 ) .

Grandpa kongkong birthday dinner at HillCity ( where else but the family ever-popular restaurant – nearby, delicious food, reasonable pricing...and quite empty ).

Well, after all the good time and good food during CNY…it is time to hit the potty.
Can’t wait for the next lunar new year…welcome Mickey!
